Mark Christopher works as a writer/director of film, TV, and stage in the U.S., Brazil and Europe. In 2015, Miramax released the 54 Director’s Cut, which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival to acclaimed reviews, and was later released on HBO and on all major cable and streaming platforms. A new Blu-ray edition featuring both versions of the film, commentaries, and documentaries is being released by Paramount Pictures and Vinegar Syndrome.

Christopher has written pilots for CBS, Fox, MTV, Sony, and Warner Bros. His current television project is a U.S./German co-production with Stampede Ventures and Leonine Studios. He also created and executive-produced Real Life: The Musical for OWN, produced by ITV.

His original stage musical Mid-Century Moderns premiered in Palm Springs to rave reviews and a sold-out run, with an open-ended engagement. Other projects in development include the feature thriller SARA, set in Berlin, and the stage musical Me and Mrs. Jones.

His award-winning short films, now in re-release by Frameline, have screened at the Museum of Modern Art and international festivals. At the Berlin International Film Festival, Alkali, Iowa won the Teddy Award. His work has been featured in The New York Times, The Guardian, Variety, The Wall Street Journal, Artforum, and Vanity Fair. His Portuguese is fluent, and he can muddle his way through a variety of other languages.
